Join us on this wine tour and discover the Colchagua valley; declared by magazine Wine Spectator as the best in the world for wine production. This Valley is popular for its red wines. You'll tour two wineries, each winery with its unique characteristics. You'll start at the Montes winery, situated in the Colchagua Valley, the "Finca of Apalta" that is set in the heart of the popular and recognized valley. The annual accumulation of rainfall in this area is 750 mm, its situated 40 miles only from the ocean, where the influence of the ocean is regarded as soft to moderate, making it perfect for grape growing. Aurelio Montes, the winemaker of Montes winery insists that about 80% of a great wine depends on the grape varieties, while the cellar accounts for just 20%. His individual philosophy is that gravity is responsible for moving the grapes, the must as well as the new wine. We'll then visit Casa Lapostolle, this second winery visit will amaze you by the unique design of its cellar which has six levels. This winery is home to the counsel of one of the most celebrated winemakers worldwide: Michel Rolland. The winery is currently the property of the Marnier Lapostolle family. Their philosophy is to make world-class wines using French expertise and the great Chilean wine-growing terroir.
The cellar facade boasts of 24 oak beams from Chile, an architectural quality showcasing the vinification process. Eventually, at lunchtime, you'll be transferred to the north, to Rengo, where the renowned eatery, the Entre Rios is found. It has an exceptional reputation for its international cuisine, French dishes, and Chilean fusion, using a diverse variety of regional products. The restaurant also has an excellent wine store, where you can taste the best wines of Chile.
