Activity Overview
Are you looking for a relaxed pace day, with a small group of people? Well, this afternoon tour is the perfect option for you. The tour provides some of Waiheke’s picturesque highlights. You will visit 3 boutique vineyards for some tastings, tour a micro-brewery and delight in an excellent platter lunch. You will enjoy an amusing and informative commentary from your guide along the way.
Our expert guides are all intimately familiar with Waiheke’s people, culture, history, and the local produce. They are also great wine enthusiasts.
If you would like to extend your stay on the island, we can organize a dinner booking at a venue of your choice, or head to Oneroa Village to enjoy the evening at your spare time.

SAMPLE ITINERARY
  • 12:00 pm - Leave Auckland on Fullers and sail to Waiheke Island.
  • 12:35 pm - Arrive at Matiatia, where you will be greeted on the wharf and start the tour with a ride along the spectacular northern route, to appreciate the scenic views of the Hauraki Gulf and extending to the Coromandel Peninsula.
  • 1:15 pm – Delight in a tasting at Peacock Sky, producers of Chardonnay, Merlot Malbec, Méthode Traditionelle, and Cabernet Sauvignon wines. The wines are all expertly paired with morsels of enticing food prepared daily by the vineyard owners.
  • 2:15 pm - Wine sampling and platter style lunch at Stonyridge Vineyard, a relaxing setting, located amidst an olive grove and vines. Stonyridge is the home of Larose, one of New Zealand’s cult wines.
  • 3:40 pm - Pick up from Stonyridge.
  • 3:45 pm - Wild tour on Waiheke vineyard and micro-brewery vineyard. Here you will sample two Top Knot wines and two locally prepared beers, dark ale and pale, or their tasty non-alcoholic ginger beer. You will delight in the “Taste Waiheke” region, where you can taste locally-produced food items that include olive oils and preserves.
  • 4:45 pm – Tour the Batch Vineyard, a towering vineyard on Waiheke Island where its north overlooks the sun-soaked hillsides of vines, including terraces of conservative and elegant Alsace-design vines adjacent to the winery. This location offers spectacular 360-degree views over the island and stretches to the gulf islands. Taste a selection of their wine, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Flora, and Pinot Gris plus Batch Winery’s exquisite wine, Blanc de Blancs.
  • 5:40 pm - Leave Waiheke on Fullers and sail back to Auckland.

Highlights:
For the day tour of a lifetime - catch the 10 am ferry from downtown Auckland and our sociable host will be waiting to welcome you as you disembark.
The tour will commence immediately and you'll have the chance to enjoy jaw-dropping landscape around every corner accompanied by an enthusiastic recount on the island's early history and life on the island up to date. We normally book our three vineyards in advance each day and ardent hosts will be eagerly waiting to welcome you, ready to recount their wealth and depth of expertise about our excellent wine industry. You'll get the chance to sample 15 very unique wines and enjoy either breads, small tapas, olive oils, and cheese depending on the vineyard. You may even get the chance to taste some local honey, or an oyster shooter (at your own cost). This experience offers a truly fully interactive wine tasting session as you've never had before.
At around 2 pm we'll chauffeur you to the lunch venue of your choice (lunch not included in the tour price). After lunch, we'll meet and drive you to the 4 pm or 4:30 pm ferry back to the city.
You'll be driven in comfortable air-conditioned vehicles that can accommodate a maximum of 10 people, normally 8, thus leaving 2 - 3 seats free for comfort.
