Would you like to discover the main highlights of Palma de Mallorca? Do you want a great introduction to the town but you don’t want to feel like a tourist? Well, you are in the right place! We invite you to discover the main highlights of the old town such as the Cathedral, the Townhall, the Lonja, the King Palace but also the backstreets outside the massified areas where you can really feel the real essence of Palma.

We’ll meet in the town center, at the beautiful Lonja building, where the merchants used to discuss and talk about the business issues. It is one of the few examples in the world of civil gothic. From there we will walk in the narrow streets of Palma, we will pass through the gardens of the King “S’Hort del Rei” to arrive at the amazing entrance of the Cathedral.

The Palma Cathedral, (also known as La Seu by the Palmesans) is right on the top of the sea. Amazing, isn’t so? We love it so much that we invite you to admire it from the outside but also from the inside with a skip the line ticket to save you time 😉 Inside there you will be astonished by the rosettones, the Modern art chapel made by a local artist called Barceló, the Gaudì chandelier (even Gaudì came to Mallorca!) mixed with the amazing gothic style of the Cathedral.

But Palma is not just the Cathedral and the historic buildings; there are amazing hidden gems that just a few people are able to admire. And we will share these spots with you. In fact, we will walk in the backstreets where you will discover the ex Jewish area and learn a little bit more about their history.

After all these backstreets we will come back to one of the main streets of Palma to the town hall where there are a lot of interesting spots and some hidden stories that our guide will tell you such as the 400-century-old olive tree or the giants hidden inside the town hall…And finally, you will get to the relaxing part of this walk around the center: the Olivar market!

Inside this local market, you will discover the traditional food typical from Mallorca (you can get some original and yummy ideas for your souvenirs). There you will stop for a small tapa and a small glass of wine or beer and you will relax for a moment with your guide and your small group, as locals do after some shopping. This is the typical appetizer we have before going to have lunch.

The tour ends at the market but, don’t worry, because your guide will be ready to help you to find your way back home…or she will advise you a good restaurant where you can have lunch! Feel free to ask her all the advice you need! Because we want to make your stay in Mallorca and in Palma memorable!

The Mallorca’s tapas culture began during the 2008 financial crisis in Spain, La Crisis. Bars were not making enough sales on weekdays. So to increase sales, the local bar owners came ... moreup with the "Ruta Martiana" concept. It was all about reasonable prices and every Tuesday evening one drink ordered was accompanied with tapas. The tapas was made of a slice of bread with vegetables, fish, or meat toppings. The Ruta Martiana idea filled up the empty bars bringing old and new friends together as others sat on the lovely walkways and checking out different bars. It is a cherished Spanish ceremonial dinner that has been extended to the present day. It is a must try when visiting Mallorca.
On this Mallorca tapas tour, we will stroll the streets of Palma to sample the best tapas bars. Each bar has a custom-made tapas accompanied with either a glass of local wine, soft drink or a cold beer. As we continue with the tour, you can also try the biggest tortilla in Mallorca, some authentic Spanish jamón, fresh fish pinchos, or some grilled rib lambs.
If you are spoilt for choice, kindly ask your guide to advice on the most delicious delicacy.

The tour starts with everyone converging at Plaza Espana. We’ll then proceed to a local market in the city that’s actually 60 years old. Here, we’ll shop for ingredients to use when ... moremaking some classic Mediterranean paella. Of course, the market is nice for a unique shopping experience; probably stroll around and even take pictures.

Once done, we’ll take a bus to Sierra Tramuntana mountains; one of the scenic spots in the city. Here, you’ll meet Ramon- he’ll host you all through the learning process. Depending on the weather, you’ll either cook in his kitchen or his yard. Ramon will take you through the whole cooking process; you’ll learn the history and secrets behind the local cuisine! Interestingly, you’ll even have an opportunity of taking some snacks, local tapas and pair with beer or soft drink. Well, the aroma of the paella will definitely tell it all!

The best part will be to take the sumptuous paella we’ve prepared for lunch. Some local Mallorca wine will perfectly do. Later, some homemade dessert with coffee will ensure you’ve had a wonderful lunch. If you thought that’s all, you’re wrong. How about finishing the Mallorca way; a glass of Heirbas? You’ll love the whole experience! Later, you’ll take a bus, stroll around the city before ending the tour.
