Vinho Verde is an incredibly fresh and light wine, exclusively produced in the Demarcated Region. This Green Wine is the ideal companion for a summer afternoon! It is produced between the Minho River and Douro River and boasts a Preserved Designation of Origin, that dates back to 1908.
You will be collected at your hotel in a comfortable air-conditioned minivan to start the full-day tour.
Your first stop will be at the renowned Quinta de Covela, on the slopes of Douro River. This Wine Estate belonged to Manoel de Oliveira, who lived between 1908-2015. He is one of the top ranking European filmmakers. Manoel de Oliveira was a cheerful man, and passionate about his movies, he was the first movie director in practice.
Quinta de Covela is situated on the border between the shale Region of Port Wine, and the granitic region of Green Wines. This region is renowned worldwide for its captivating countryside!
You will explore the woods, vineyards, and gardens of Quinta de Covela. This place is a remarkable location perfect for sightseeing. Be prepared to make a toast at the wine tasting table!
You will tour the Eça de Queiroz Foundation, a House-Museum where the celebrated Portuguese writer and diplomat, found inspiration to compose “The City and The Mountains”, one of his finest novels.
Savor a mouthwatering traditional meal, with a captivating story behind it! It is the same meal that Eça Queiroz enjoyed on these lands!
