It was such an interesting, educational and delicious experience!
My husband and I have been to Playa del Carmen 5 times over the last 10 years, but had never ventured past 5th ave and really experienced the city until we took the tour with Cristobal. It was such an interesting, educational and delicious experience. Every bite of food we had was so delicious and I was completely stuffed by the last stop. Cristobal was a great guide and we will definitely try his ... more Puerto Morelos tour next time we are in the area.

Mexican Foodies Tour

Our best seller, a 3-hour food and shopping experience that helps you to get a better view of the Mexican culture while you taste a lot of the delicious food and hear about the culinary history of Mexico. Eat like a Mexican and try the cochinita Pibil, Pozole, Tamales, Carnitas, Salbutes, Esquites, Tacos of many types among many other local dishes including artesanal hand made ice cream.

Cochinita pibil
Real cochinita pibil is not spicy, but it has a uniquely sweet, earthy aroma imparted by bitter Seville oranges, achiote, charred garlic, and a host of other spices. That earthiness is backed with the herbaceous aroma of the banana leaves it's cooked in, along with smokiness from hours of slow cooking in a smoky, steamy Mayan oven consisting of a hole in the ground lined with hot stones.

Pozole
is a traditional Mexican soup that is full of different flavors, loved by many, and is consumed year-round. One of the all-time favorite meals of the Mexicans.

Tamal
is a traditional dish made of masa or dough which is steamed in a corn husk or banana leafs, filled with different ingredients like pork, chicken, cheese or mole sauce. Try the best tamales in town!

Carnitas
crispy pork carnitas is a winner! An incredible combination of juicy flavor and golden crispyness made this one of the most popular tacos in the U.S.
