Activity Overview
The Golden West Beer Tour | Visit Oakland and Berkeley Breweries

There's nothing better than a guided tour where you check out the best local breweries, drink amazing beers, meet great people and not have to worry about a thing!

Oakland was at one time one of the largest beer brewing cities in the country until Prohibition ended the city’s golden glow. But thanks to several microbrewers it is buzzing again. For the last few years Oakland and Berkeley have emerged as a craft beer goldmine and the location of some of the best breweries, brewpubs and beer bars in the Golden State.

On this brewery tour you can also listen to your favorite tunes and play games throughout the day! You will have plenty of time to taste a variety of amazing beers from Common Lagers to Sours and enjoy a quick bite if you choose.

My friend wanted to celebrate his birthday going on a beer tour and while I'd never gone on one before, this one has definitely set the bar for any I go on in the future. Jean - the owner and our driver - was absolutely amazing. She did an excellent job of getting us to from brewery to brewery, but more than that she does such a wonderful job of engaging her tour group and tending to their every need. ... more She made sure we were all getting hydrated and facilitated the group conversation since we had also been paired up with another group. She definitely knows her beers as well and made some excellent recommendations - a clear sign that she enjoys what she does! I'm so glad to have gone on this trip and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great way to spend a few hours in good company and with good drink!

I recently went on a tour with some family and friends, and it was great! Even though it was a rainy day, we all had so much fun. Jean was our driver, and she went above and beyond to take good care of us. The van was very nice, comfortable, and she provided snacks and water along the way. We traveled to three breweries for tastings at each one. I had so much fun trying different samples and learning ... more about the variety of brews. Each brewery was unique as Jean told us about it's history and what special brews each one had to offer. No worries about driving! We just relaxed, enjoyed the tastings and had fun together!
