Activity Overview
In 1908, Dão became the first region to be demarcated as a region of table wine in Portugal. 100 years down the line, the wines produced in the Dão are actively competing with global wineries and are even comparable to those made in Burgundy. As a city that once was Portugal’s capital, Coimbra is known for its university which was founded in 1290 and considered a global heritage site by UNESCO. Perhaps you’ll love to come experience this glamorous place.

The first stop will be at a Wine Estate owned by the same family for at least four generations, localised in the Portuguese Wine Region Dão. Standing 430 m above sea level, overlooking the river that lends name to the region, this Quinta is located in the peculiar “terroir” of Oliveira de Barreiros village, from where we can see the rustic landscape of Serra da Estrela. You’ll definitely love the taste of Dão wine!

You then cruise down a road with vineyard on both side in direction of Nelas, where you'll have a regional lunch waiting.

It´s time to set off in the direction of Coimbra, the University City. You'll will visit the Royal Palace and the Universities, buildings considered World Heritage by UNESCO.

It might be time for a snack, so after a stroll on the downtown of Coimbra, you'll stop for some traditional pastry of Coimbra on one of the oldest and most well-known bakery of the city, which serves traditional quality products since 1955!

Then we return to Porto. Are you ready for the trip? Book now!
